InMath Reader for CS3 has been announced

The InMath developers have just announced a free "InMath Reader" plug-in. It will be available in early September 2008 for download.

InMath Reader will work with InCopyCS3, InDesignCS3 and InDesignServerCS3. It has been designed to preserve InMath attributes within InCopy/InDesign documents. Everyone who needs to open documents containing InMath equations, but not to edit these documents, should definitely install the InMath Reader plug-in in order to make sure that all InMath-specific attributes are protected.

However, InMath Reader will of course not be able to protect the document under any circumstances. If you edit or partially delete text within InMath expressions, you may be able to corrupt your document anyway.

Risk of working on InMath documents without InMath installed - New issue: Autorecovery

A new issue has been reported by the InMath developers regarding the autorecovery function in InDesign. If any InDesign document will be recovered, for example after an InDesign crash or a system crash, and if during this recovery InMath is not present and loaded, then every InMath-related information will be irretrievably stripped out of this document. It can even be the case that InDesign frequently crashes when working on such an InDesign document. In these cases, you need to export this document as INX and re-open this INX.

For this and for all other already communicated reasons, we strongly recommend again that you make sure that each workstation on which InMath documents are opened has InMath installed and loaded. We cannot take any responsability for any loss of InMath information or corrupted documents caused by works on a document without InMath installed.

For InCopy workstations, it is imperative that InMath is installed and loaded if InMath documents are opened on them. The reason is the InCopy particularity to wipe out any third-party attributes that InCopy doesn't understand.

With this update, all InMath expressions will align correctly in new documents as well as in converted CS or CS2 documents. All affected users already got the download information. If you are affected and didn't get this information, please send us an e-mail at inmath@itip-gmbh.eu.

New hyphenation plug-in "InDihyph 5.0 (CS3)" released

The new version of the leading hyphenation module, InDihyph 5.0 (CS3), has just been released. It is compatible with InDesignCS3 and InCopyCS3 on both platforms MAC and WIN. It comes with outstanding and unique new features.

InDihyph reduces mishyphenation dramatically to almost zero, and it brings a new dimension of hyphenation quality.

The most fascinating new features are:

You can now adjust five different hyphenation quality levels.

You can assign a hyphenation quality level to each paragraph separately with an additional option in the paragraph style options. This is a feature that no other hyphenation software can offer you.

You can use wildcards in your own user dictionaries.

You can eliminate unnecessary discretionary hyphens in imported documents with just one nouse click.

A new InDihyphCS3 runtime allows it to open and print out documents without having InDihyph 5.0 (CS3) installed.

InDihyph 5.0 (CS3) is now available.

To the InDihyph product page
